Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) explains the rules that apply when using Rappor, including our websites, member portal, web application, APIs, generated group websites, generated member or business profile pages, communications, file uploads, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to follow this Policy.
1. Purpose of this Policy
Rappor is designed to help networking groups, chambers, referral groups, business organizations, and similar communities manage group activity, track referrals, promote members, and maintain public-facing group and business profile pages.
Because the Service includes private workspace tools, public website content, member/business profiles, referral tracking, file uploads, and communication features, all users must use the Service responsibly, lawfully, and professionally.
This Policy helps protect Rappor, our users, workspace members, website visitors, prospects, customers, and third parties.
2. Who Must Follow this Policy
This Policy applies to all users of the Service, including:
- Visitors
- Registered users
- Members
- Group administrators
- Organization administrators
- Workspace owners
- Invited users
- Anyone submitting, uploading, viewing, managing, or publishing content through the Service
Workspace administrators are responsible for helping ensure that users in their group or organization comply with this Policy.
3. General Rules
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, court order, contract, or third-party right.
- Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, abusive, or harmful activity.
- Interfere with the security, performance, availability, or integrity of the Service.
- Access or attempt to access accounts, workspaces, systems, APIs, or data without authorization.
- Upload, publish, submit, transmit, or store prohibited content.
- Misuse referral, prospect, member, customer, or business contact information.
- Use the Service in a way that harms Rappor, other users, website visitors, prospects, customers, or third parties.
4. Prohibited Content
You may not upload, submit, publish, display, transmit, link to, or store content through the Service that:
- Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, invasive of privacy, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.
- Promotes discrimination, harassment, or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, or other protected status.
- Contains false, misleading, or deceptive claims about a person, business, product, service, credential, license, certification, affiliation, or result.
- Infringes copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights.
- Includes images, logos, project photos, documents, videos, or other materials that you do not have permission to use.
- Contains malware, viruses, spyware, ransomware, worms, corrupted files, malicious code, or harmful scripts.
- Contains sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the intended use of the Service.
- Contains Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial account numbers, payment card numbers, medical information, protected health information, biometric data, or other highly sensitive information.
- Contains another person’s personal information without appropriate authorization or legitimate business purpose.
- Promotes illegal goods, illegal services, scams, pyramid schemes, deceptive business opportunities, or fraudulent activity.
- Is designed to manipulate search engines through spam, keyword stuffing, cloaking, hidden text, deceptive redirects, or other abusive SEO tactics.
- Misrepresents the source, ownership, endorsement, or sponsorship of a group, organization, business, or website.
5. Public Website and Profile Content
The Service may allow users and workspace administrators to publish public-facing group websites, member listings, business profile pages, event details, project showcase photos, service lists, business descriptions, social links, contact information, and related content.
You are responsible for ensuring that public content you submit or approve is:
- Accurate
- Lawful
- Non-confidential
- Appropriate for public display
- Not misleading
- Not infringing
- Properly authorized
- Consistent with this Policy and our Terms of Service
You may not use public pages to impersonate another person or business, claim false affiliations, publish fake reviews or testimonials, misrepresent licensing or credentials, or make claims that you cannot support.
Rappor may remove, edit, disable, unpublish, noindex, or restrict public content if we believe it violates this Policy, creates risk, or may harm users, visitors, third parties, or Rappor.
6. Referral, Prospect, and Contact Information
The Service may allow users to enter referral information, prospect contact information, business activity records, one-to-one meeting records, attendance records, notes, and related information.
You may only submit referral, prospect, member, customer, or third-party contact information when you have a legitimate and appropriate business reason to do so.
You may not use the Service to:
- Upload purchased, scraped, harvested, or unlawfully obtained contact lists.
- Submit prospect information without an appropriate business purpose.
- Submit sensitive personal information that is not necessary for referral tracking.
- Use referral data to spam, harass, mislead, or unlawfully solicit prospects.
- Share confidential prospect or customer information with unauthorized users.
- Enter fake referrals, fake closed business, fake activity records, or intentionally misleading metrics.
- Use the Service to track individuals for unlawful, discriminatory, or abusive purposes.
Workspace administrators and users are responsible for how they collect, submit, use, and share referral and prospect information.
7. Email, Notifications, and Communications
The Service may include workspace invitations, referral notifications, administrative notices, account emails, support messages, marketing emails, and other communications.
You may not use Rappor communications to:
- Send spam or unlawful messages.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or intimidate another person.
- Send deceptive or misleading messages.
- Impersonate another person, business, group, or organization.
- Send messages to individuals who should not receive them.
- Violate anti-spam, marketing, privacy, or communications laws.
- Promote illegal, deceptive, or harmful products or services.
If Rappor provides notification settings, users are responsible for configuring their preferences appropriately. Some transactional or service-related messages may be required for use of the Service.
8. File Uploads, Images, Logos, and Documents
If the Service allows uploads, you may only upload files that you have the right to use and share.
You may not upload files that:
- Contain malware or harmful code.
- Infringe another party’s rights.
- Contain confidential information you are not authorized to share.
- Contain sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the intended use.
- Are deceptive, unlawful, defamatory, or harmful.
- Violate this Policy, our Terms of Service, or applicable law.
Rappor may scan, restrict, remove, disable, resize, compress, convert, or otherwise process uploaded files for security, performance, formatting, storage, moderation, or operational purposes.
9. Security and Access Restrictions
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, accounts, workspaces, APIs, servers, databases, or systems.
- Access or attempt to access data outside your authorized workspace or role.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with authentication, authorization, billing controls, access controls, or security features.
- Test, scan, probe, or exploit vulnerabilities without our prior written permission.
- Use automated tools to overload, scrape, crawl, or attack the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service.
- Introduce malware, harmful code, or unauthorized scripts.
- Use another user’s account without permission.
- Share credentials in a way that creates unauthorized access.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
If you discover a security issue, you must report it to us promptly at [email protected] and must not exploit, disclose, or misuse the issue.
10. API and Automated Use
If Rappor provides API access or backend integrations, you may only use them as authorized by Rappor.
You may not:
- Use APIs in a way that exceeds rate limits or usage limits.
- Use APIs to scrape, harvest, or export data without authorization.
- Use APIs to bypass the user interface, billing restrictions, feature limits, or access controls.
- Use automated systems to create fake accounts, fake workspaces, fake referrals, fake metrics, or spam content.
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to disrupt the Service.
- Share API credentials publicly or with unauthorized parties.
We may restrict, suspend, rotate, or revoke API access at any time if we believe API usage violates this Policy or creates risk.
11. Search Engine and Marketing Abuse
Rappor may provide SEO-structured group pages and business profile pages. You may not use these features to engage in search engine manipulation, spam, or deceptive marketing.
Prohibited activity includes:
- Keyword stuffing.
- Hidden text or hidden links.
- Cloaking.
- Doorway pages.
- Deceptive redirects.
- Fake locations.
- Fake businesses.
- Fake reviews or testimonials.
- Misleading service claims.
- Duplicate, spammy, or automatically generated low-quality content.
- Link schemes or paid link manipulation.
- Using Rappor pages to promote unrelated, illegal, or deceptive services.
Rappor may edit, remove, noindex, disable, or restrict pages that appear spammy, misleading, abusive, or harmful to platform quality.
12. Competitive Misuse
You may not use the Service to copy, benchmark, reverse engineer, or build a competing product or service without our written permission.
You may not use the Service to:
- Copy Rappor’s workflows, templates, data structure, interface, or features.
- Monitor the Service for competitive purposes.
- Extract data to build a similar platform.
- Misuse trial, demo, beta, or production access to evaluate Rappor for competitive replication.
- Circumvent technical or contractual restrictions intended to protect Rappor’s intellectual property.
This does not restrict your normal use of the Service for legitimate group, organization, member, or business networking purposes.
13. Workspace Administrator Responsibilities
Workspace administrators are responsible for:
- Inviting only appropriate users.
- Assigning appropriate user roles.
- Removing users who should no longer have access.
- Managing public content responsibly.
- Reviewing member-submitted public information where appropriate.
- Ensuring group or organization information is accurate.
- Ensuring subscription and billing actions are authorized.
- Responding to internal disputes among members where appropriate.
- Ensuring workspace use complies with applicable law and this Policy.
- Promptly notifying Rappor of misuse, security concerns, or unauthorized access.
Rappor is not responsible for internal disputes between workspace administrators, members, groups, organizations, businesses, prospects, customers, or other third parties.
14. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations of this Policy. We may take action if we believe, in our discretion, that a user, workspace, or content violates this Policy, our Terms of Service, applicable law, or creates risk.
Enforcement actions may include:
- Warning a user or workspace administrator
- Removing content
- Editing formatting or disabling certain content
- Unpublishing public pages
- Disabling links
- Noindexing pages
- Restricting features
- Suspending accounts
- Removing users from workspaces
- Suspending workspaces
- Disabling API access
- Suspending billing-related features
- Canceling subscriptions
- Terminating accounts or workspaces
- Reporting activity to law enforcement or legal authorities where appropriate
We are not obligated to monitor all content or activity, but we may do so to operate, protect, improve, and enforce the Service.
15. Reporting Violations

Please include as much information as possible, such as:
- The workspace, group, organization, or public page involved
- The user or content involved, if known
- A description of the issue
- Screenshots or links, if available
- Your contact information
We will review reports and determine appropriate action in our discretion.
16. Appeals
If your account, workspace, content, or access is restricted due to a suspected violation, you may contact us at [email protected] to request review.
We are not required to reverse enforcement decisions, but we may reconsider decisions based on additional information.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Policy, updating the “Last Updated” date, sending an email, displaying an in-app notice, or using another reasonable method.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated Policy.
